![]() I'll add at this point that turnover at this company can be surprisingly high, an easy fix if they paid their entry level employees more. Training during my seasonal period and after my promotion was delegated from the store manager down to the assistant manager and again down to a sales person, I learned the majority of what I knew just by watching, observing, being polite, and calling customer care when I didn't know something. I later learned that I should have gotten a raise after being made a sales team member, but my manager never actually did the paperwork so my pay didn't change. Initially I was hired as a seasonal cash register operator at $7.90 an hour, and they kept me on as a sales team member because I would always make an extra effort to get customers to add warranty options, and I was a generally good employee. ![]() I spent 3 years working for Kay Jewelers. ![]()
