He worked in trade for a while and then he gave up this and went to Paris in order to continue his education. He completed his basic education in Istanbul and graduated from the Saint Joseph French College in Kadikoy. Gabriyel, who was the son of the Head Baker of Asakir-i Shahana, was born in Uskudar in October 1852. He served in important posts in the government and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the disintegrating and declining periods of the Ottoman Empire he served as a notable member and worked as the Minister of Trade, Public Works, and Foreign Affairs. Gabriyel Noradunkyan is one of the first people whose name comes to mind among the last period of Armenian bureaucrats.
